Calculation of Process Water, Wastewater, Waste and Residual Material

On the basis of their competence built over decades in the field of wastewater treatment in paper mills, TBP UPCON has developed calculation models which excellently illustrate the interdependencies of production and wastewater treatment when using biologically cleaned water as a fresh water substitute. This simulation is well verifiable due to the screenings of selected parameters, such as the COD progression in the production line. Process water calculation allows the establishment of an optimal recirculating water management, combining aspects of production with those of efficiency of water treatment. Optimal water management often results in the consistent introduction of a fresh water counter flow reverse to the production flow minimising the amount of impurities in the sheet formation zone while saving a great amount of fresh water. In addition, this entails a maximum discharge of impurities from stock preparation.

The creation of an optimal recirculating water management is the basis for the correct dimensioning of wastewater treatment. Further upgrading can be considered. The procedure selection depends - from case to case - on mechanical, physical, chemical and biological processes and their combinations.

In most cases, the areas of waste, rejects, and residues require detailed individual investigation. TBP UPCON assists paper mills with their long-time know-how from concept drafting to implementation.
